Being Associated

We spend so much time being disconnected or disassociated from life. We are so busy doing that we forget to just be. We are constantly having to stimulate ourselves with some type of external mode of entertainment whether that be with social media, our phones, tv, reading, etc. How often do you take the time to just experience presence without reaching for something to change your focus? We are missing out on our experience of this lifetime by constantly needing to disconnect. We have lost the ability to hear the bodies callings and expressions through our experiences. How long will we continue to check out of this life before we decide that this is actually worth showing up for. How do we stop numbing out? How do we begin to go back to being present in our experience? 

It first begins with awareness. We must first start to notice when we are reaching for our phones, a book, the remote control and consciously choose to stop. Then, we must use our breath to bring us back to our body, to our present. 

A wonderful and simple breath to use is calming breath. All you have to do is breathe gently through the nose and out of the mouth 3 to 5 times (more if you like) and then check in with your body. Ask the question - where in my body am I feeling dis-ease and what is it trying to tell me? What feelings, expressions or thoughts am I having in this space? What have I been holding on to? Being in the breath and body brings us back to presence. It brings us back to the reality that our spirit has chosen to be in this body and breath to experience the creations of life in its fullness with our senses. What will you choose this minute? this hour? this day?
